Authentic Greek Tiganopsomo (Fried Bread)

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg of white all-purpose Flour
  • 2 - 3 glasses of Water
  • 1 small packet of Yeast

Preparation:

  1. Put the flour in a plastic basin.
  2. Put Yeast and combine with flour.
  3. Pour two glasses of water and knead well to make dough.

The dough will be ready when it does not stick to your finger. If dough feels to sticky, simply add more flour.

Frying Process:

  1. Put some olive oil in a frying pan, and heat it till it's quite hot.
  2. Cut off a small amount of the dough and create a ball (size of a tennis ball or a bit smaller). 
  3. Now, gently press the ball of dough with your fingers and put in pan with hot oil.
  4. Cook each side till they turn pale.

Note: Put some oil in your hands so dough won't stick to them.
