This homemade coffee scrub made with orange essential oil can help nourish skin and lessen the appearance of stretch marks and cellulite. The antioxidants in the coffee provide a temporary anti-inflammatory that helps skin appear firmer and help prevent premature skin aging. The almond oil and vitamin E will moisturize your skin leaving it silky smooth.

This coffee scrub is made from fine coffee grounds, brown sugar, almond oil, vitamin E oil, and orange essential oil. The antioxidants in the coffee work as an anti-inflammatory that will make your skin appear firmer. It's not a miracle scrub that will get rid of stretch marks and cellulite, but it does help temporarily reduce the appearance. When making this scrub try to use finely ground coffee. The finer grounds will help gently exfoliate the skin without irritating it. Once the dead skin cells are removed your body will absorb moisture effectively, leaving it feel renewed and smooth.

Note: please use with caution if this is your first time using a scrub. Try a small area to make sure you're not allergic to any of the ingredients before using on larger areas or face.

Skin care products made with natural ingredients are very effective at reducing wrinkles, tightening and smoothing the skin and keeping it youthfully elastic and supple. It's not only a safer bet for your health, but also for your physical appearance, to stay closer to nature than to toxic ingredients thought up and created in a laboratory.

Ingredients
  • 6 Tbsp Almond oil
  • 1/4 cup Cacao butter
  • 3 Tbsp Shea butter
  • 2 Tbsp Coconut oil
  • 1 Tbsp Beeswax
  • 2/3 cup Floral water, aka Hydrosol (Sandalwood)
  • 1/3 cup Aloe vera gel
  • 1/2 tsp Vitamin E oil (14,000 ui)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 10 drops of Essential oils
I used these essential oils: Orange, Frankincense, Lemongrass, Patchouli

Directions

Sterilize the jars that you will store your cream in, in boiling water. I reused jars and so this was necessary. If you use new jars they will come pre-sterilized.

While containers are sterilizing, melt cacao butter, shea butter, coconut oil and beeswax all together in a double boiler, or in a bowl over a pot of hot water.

Meanwhile, mix the floral water (hydrosol) and aloe vera gel in a bowl.

After oils are melted allow them to cool slightly and then add to blender along with the almond oil and blend. Slow down blending and stream in the hydrosol and aloe vera in the top of the blender jar while still blending. Blend for a few minutes until cream becomes thick and fluffy. Add the essential oils, vitamin E and vanilla and blend until they are mixed in completely.

Dry sterilized jars and then pour cream into jars. Put caps on jars and store any cream that you will not be using with the next month into the fridge. Refrigerated cream should keep for several months, and up to a year.

Slather all over and luxuriate in the heavenly scent and smooth feel of your skin!!

I'm back with another Monday Makeup Lesson which it supper easy and can make your eyes look bigger and brighter ....

If you're interested (surely you are) in making your eyes look lifted, the following video will help you achieve the look ....

Do you wish you could have soft and glowing skin without spending a fortune on beauty products? Here's a simple recipe for a homemade face mask that uses items you probably already have in your kitchen cupboard. Another advantage of this beauty mask is that it is suitable for all skin types. The ingredients are either too drying nor too greasy ....

Ingredients:
  • 1 teaspoon of extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
Method:
  1. Put extra-virgin olive oil in a bowl.
  2. Next, add 1/2 teaspoon of honey.
  3. Add a teaspoon of baking soda.
  4. Mix the ingredients well to form a think paste. If you want a thicker paste, add more baking soda.
Both olive oil and honey have moisturizing properties that keep your skin soft and smooth. Olive oil penetrates deep into the skin, helping repair your skin, promoting elasticity and reducing blemishes.

Honey fights off bacteria, tightens your skin pores and protects your skin from sun damage and premature wrinkling. It also hydrates your skin and locks in moisture.

Baking soda works as a gentle exfoliating agent, reduces redness caused by breakouts and boosts circulation. It also helps treat acne and pimples by removing excess oil and dead skin cells.

I don't know about you but I use lemons for several reason, in food, drinks, to decorate and also on my body. Thanks to my mum and aunt, here are different ways you can incorporate lemons in your beauty regime....

For Darken Skin

Squeeze half a lemon and apply the juice to the area/s with a cotton ball but stay away from sunlight. Leave for an hour and wash off with water.

For Blackheads and Acne

Rub a cut lemon over your face and leave for 10 minutes. Wash it off with cold water.

For Elbows and Armpits

To get rid of dark skin on elbows and armpits simply rub a cut lemon and leave on for 30 minutes. Wash off with water.

For Lighter Hair

Damp your hair with juice of four lemons and stay in the sun for no more than 60 minutes. Wash and condition your hair. Repeat for a lighter look.

For Dandruff

Cut lemon into slices and massage directly on to your scalp. Leave for an hour and wash it off with lukewarm water.

For Nails

Bleach and strengthen your nails by soaking in lemon juice for 10 minutes each week.

For Feet

Put the juice of one lemon in a bucket of warm water and soak your feet for about 20 minutes. Dry completely.

I have sensitive skin and trying different skin care products has made no difference.

I have been advised to only use products that do not contain alcohol, retinoids or alphahydroxy acids, antibacterial or deodorant ingredients, fragrance and products that contain only a few ingredients.
