Make an adorable pom-pom hat to go with the cooler weather that's rolling in.

If you don't have expert sewing skills, don't worry. It's really easy and a great way to upcylce either an old sweater.

Let's get started.


Supplies:

• sweater
• fabric scissors
• straight pins
• standard sewing machine
• yarn
• cardboard for pom-pom

Trace the outline around the edge of the hat with straight pins.


Use your sewing machine and follow the lines of the pins to sew the outline of the hat. Use a medium to small stitch and go slowly as you sew you line.


Use your fabric scissors to cut around your sewn hat, leaving a 1/4'' seam allowance.

Take your cardboard and yarn and follow this pom-pom tutorial to make a fun topper for your hat (just change the cardboard donut size to 4'' wide with a 1'' hole in the middle).

If you want to make a mixed colour pom-pom like the black and white one, just wrap two different colours at once.

Use a needle and thread to secure the pom-pom to the top of the hat.... and you're done!
